Makino's V33 vertical machining center is ideal for those die and mold shops
who know the value of superior accuracies and surface finishes, as well as the
need to put every square inch of floor space to work for maximum productivity
and profitability.
The V33 delivers machined finishes so superior, the need for EDMing and
benchwork on dies and molds can be virtually eliminated. Makino's proprietary,
next generation Super Geometric Intelligence (SGI.3) servo control delivers the
lowest cycle times achievable while maintaining the exceptional accuracy and
surface finish.
Designed to machine complex cavities and cores, the V33 offers a standard 20
HP, 20,000-rpm spindle, complemented by Makino's patented core cooling and under
race lubrication system. This system prevents spindle thermal distortion even
during the longest application and reduces vibration at high operation speeds,
resulting in longer tool life and superior surface finishes. Makino's V33 has a
rapid traverse rate of 787 ipm (20,000 mm/min) with equally fast cutting feed
rates, boosting productivity by reducing out-of-cut time while increasing metal
removal rates.
The V33 axis motion is guaranteed to deliver straightness and
perpendicularity of 0.00012 inch (3 microns) full stroke. In addition, machine
construction provides no overhangs, allowing for excellent rigidity and
dampening characteristics.
To maximize shop floor space, the V33 measures 90 x 80 inches (2,280 x 2,040
mm), and all setup work is concentrated within the machine's front width of 7.5
feet (2.3 m). The coolant tank slides out from the front of the machine and the
front-loading chip bucket is shaped for easy and efficient chip removal.
